Australia Day Celebrations

26th January
Nelson Bay and Raymond Terrace, NSW

 Annual community event/s held in both Nelson Bay and Raymond Terrace including street parades and presentations, fun for all the family.     

  

February

Bay Adventure Sports Carnival

  11th February
Shoal Bay, NSW

 The off road multi-sport adventure event challenges participants to complete the course as individuals, teams of 2 or relay teams of 4. This event will see participants swim 1.5km in Shoal Bay , then Mountain Bike Ride through national park to Fingal Bay headland and back, then Kayak from Shoal Bay to Nelson Bay and back with the Final leg running from Shoal Bay to Corlette and back using beaches, foreshore parks and footpaths.
The Summer Run will include an exciting run course using the beach, parks, forest and footpath along the Foreshore of Shoal and Nelson Bay.     

Nelson Bay Game Fishing Tournament and Festival 

18th & 19 th February, 25th & 26th February and 3rd & 4th March
Nelson Bay, NSW

 In conjunction with the NSW Game Fishing Tournament this is a festival where you and the family can get hooked on more than just fishing with Blues and Wine March 3 – 4, Markets and a host of activities which celebrates everything Nelson Bay has to offer!

Pacific Rim Yacht Challenge

17th – 24th March
Nelson Bay, NSW 

In 1990 the first Pacific Rim (Pacrim) Yacht Challenge was held in Bellingham. Pacrim is a sailing regatta, conducted over 1 week, and involving six cities from around the Pacific Rim. The challenge runs every second year and is hosted in turn by the cities. Between 100 and 150 people, sailors and supporters, attend from Sister Cities bring substantial economic benefit to the host city.   

  

Trailer Boat Fishing Tournament

30th March – 1st April
Nelson Bay, NSW

 Held at d’Albora Marina, this annual event has grown to be amongst the most popular family fishing tournaments in Australia while staying true to its original ideal of making anglers of all ages and skill levels welcome. The rules are simple to understand and there are a lot of Juniors each year. These days, you can expect to join up to 1500 competitors and 500 boats to compete for around $100,000 in species and lucky draw prizes.

Sail Port Stephens     

16th - 22nd April
d’Alborna Marinas, Nelson Bay, NSW

Since setting sail in 2008 with a flotilla of 25 boats, Sail Port Stephens is now firmly established as a “must do” annual event on every self respecting yachtie’s calendar.     

Organised by the Corlette Point Sailing Club and supported by Port Stephens Council and Destinations NSW, Sail Port Stephens is the fastest growing regatta in Australia, and there’s lots of reasons why.     

It’s family friendly, falls in the NSW school holidays, offers a wide range of affordable accommodation and plenty of fun day and night, both on and off the water.     

  

Port Stephens Art Prize

An exhibition and sale of paintings and fiber art held annually at the Port Stephens Community Arts Centre, Shoal Bay Rd Nelson Bay.

Karuah River of Music Festival

 11th - 13th May
Longworth Park, Karuah, NSW
     

Music in the streets with jamming, blackboard concerts and workshops. There will be the best that Australian bluegrass has to offer featuring: The Hardrive Bluegrass Band, The Lawnmowers, Gleny Rae and many more to come. On the River and about town in beautiful Karuah. It’s an all weather festival, with ample camping and accomodation facilities.     

 

Tri Port Stephens “Party at Port” NSW Series

 19th – 20th May  

 The “Party at Port” Port Stephens triathlon & multisport festival will see athletes swim, ride and run their way around some of the most stunning coastal areas in NSW. Held over 2 days, the festival will feature 3 triathlons, Olympic, Sprint and Enticer distances along with the Ocean Swim Classic and King of the Mountain Run.       

  

Tilligerry Motorama Car Show

20th May

 This annual event is held in the grounds of Tilligerry RSL Sports Club Tanilba Bay. With more than 300 vehicles on display including Veteran, Vintage, Classic and Muscle cars, this is a terrific community event not to be missed. There’ll be face painting and rides for the kids, food and beverages and live music. On Sunday it’s down to business when the vehicle judging takes place. Entry to the event is by gold coin donation.     

  

NSW Stand Up Paddleboard State Titles Festival  

24th – 27th May 

 This will be the 3rd annual Stand Up Paddle Board Totles held off One Mile Beach. This year will be slightly different as the event will be extended to include an international event held from d’Albora Marinas which will attract competitors from around Australia and Overseas. Surfing NSW are partnering with d’Albora Marinas and Port Stephens Council to make this event the biggest on the SUP calendar.

 Blue Water Country Music Festival

  9th – 11th June 

 It’s time to tap those toes as Nelson Bay, Shoal Bay, Soldiers Point and the entire Tomaree Peninsula gets into the country spirit with FREE country music performances, boot scooting demonstration, socials and more kick off throughout the region celebrating all things Country!

Burton Toyota Box Beach Pro

6th – 8th July
Box Beach, NSW

This event, held at Box Beach Shoal Bay will attract upwards of 100 world class competitors in the fast growing sport of Bodyboarding to Port Stephens. Now an annual event listed on the IBA Australasia calendar.      

Sculptures Festival

7th -15th July
Nelson Bay, NSW

 Visit Nelson Bay’s pristine foreshore for a sculptural exhibition and festival with a difference. See sculptures designed to sit in our unique environment, enjoy the music and get involved in sculpting workshops, sand sculpting, competitions for kids and the whole family.

Port Stephens Gold Classic Tournament

13th – 16th August

Port Stephens Classic offers golfers a unique experience on the NSW Coast with the golf tournament being played on three premier golf courses. Only visitors to the region are able to participate in the Port Stephens Classic.

Shoal Bay Jazz, Food & Wine Festival

8th September,
Shoal Bay Resort & Spa, NSW

Experience local produce from the Hunter Valley and Port Stephens. Sample wine from Hunter Valley Wineries, indulge in fresh local produce straight from the supplier or carefully prepared by experienced local chefs and be entertained with live Jazz concerts.

Tastes At The Bay

3rd – 4th November

Nelson Bay foreshore and d’Albora Marinas coe alive for an amazing food, wine and jazz festival held annually on the first weekend of November. Enjoy gourmet food, Hunter premium and boutique wines, Craft Beer, free entertainment on 4 separate stages and there’s plenty of kids activities too!
